About Me
Anna McGregor, LMHC
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (she/her). Earlier in my practice, I was known by my birth name, Anna Ossenfort.
I specialize in working with adult individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, boundary difficulties, and explorations of identity and spirituality. I have professional training and experience in relieving the effects of trauma and phobias with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
I also work with couples to improve their communication, forge a deeper connection, address infidelity, or make decisions about their future. I utilize a person-centered therapeutic approach that provides a supportive and warm relationship.
Decades ago, I became deeply interested in mindfulness and have spent more than a year of my life on silent meditation retreats. I am also well versed in 12 Step recovery principles and practices. All of these experiences deeply influence my views of what causes suffering and what can relieve it.
Please see my Services & Fees page for more information on my professional orientation and how I might be able to help you.
A little more about me: I grew up in Texas and graduated from Rice University with a bachelor’s degree in French and sociology. I always dreamed of being a therapist (and have benefitted greatly from receiving mental health services myself), but I spent many years in the legal and publishing worlds before the conditions were ripe to support this life path.
In 2022, I graduated from Antioch University Seattle with a master’s in clinical mental health counseling. I began my clinical training in Antioch’s community clinic and completed it in a private group practice.
When not engaged in personal and professional growth, I like to climb mountains, solve word puzzles, and rock out on the drums.
